AUPEC 2025 – Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference

September 29 – October 1, 2025, Brisbane, Australia

The Organising Committee of AUPEC 2025 invites proposals for Tutorial Sessions to be held in conjunction with the conference in Brisbane, Australia. Tutorials are intended to provide a focused and in-depth look at current and emerging topics of interest to the power and energy engineering community, delivered by experts from academia, industry, and government.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Power system generation, planning and operation
  • Power system stability and control
  • Resiliency of power grids
  • Power system protection
  • Power system communications
  • Power electronics converters
  • Power quality and harmonics
  • Electrical machines and drives
  • Power engineering education
  • Electricity market and economics
  • Renewable energy resources and their integrations
  • Energy storage systems and their integrations
  • Distributed and consumer energy resources
  • Demand side management
  • Virtual power plants
  • Microgrids (DC, AC and hybrid)
  • Multi-carrier energy systems, including hydroge
  • Asset management and condition monitoring of electrical plants
  • Cyber security of power systems
  • Electrification of transportation (EV, heavy vehicles and charging infrastructures)
  • Data analytics and AI in power systems
  • FACTS and HVDC
  • Impacts of climate changes on the energy sector
  • Energy transition
  • On-shore/offshore wind generation systems and solar generation systems.

Important Dates:

Proposal Submission Deadline: May 30th, 2025

Notification of Acceptance: July 25th , 2025

Tutorials Scheduled: October 2nd, 2025

Submission Guidelines:

Please submit the proposal as per the following structure-

  • Tutorial Title
  • Presenter(s): Name, affiliation, brief bio (max 150 words), and contact details
  • Abstract (300–500 words): Overview and learning objectives
  • Proposed Outline: Session structure, key topics, and format (e.g., lecture, demo, interactive)
  • Target Audience: Intended background and who should attend

Tutorial sessions will be selected by the core conference organizing committee based on the overall quality of proposals received and their relevance to their alignment with the conference theme.
