For information related to visa requirements to enter Australia please consult the Australian government website here https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing .

Assuming you are planning to visit Australia to attend AUPEC2024 as a participant or attendee (that is, you will not be working, entertaining, or being paid in Australia to contribute), you may be eligible for one of the following Visitor visas:

  • Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (subclass 601)
  • eVisitor (subclass 651)
  • Visitor visa (subclass 600) in the Business Visitor stream.

Please note that you should apply for your visa at least 6–8 weeks before your intended date of travel to Australia (or two weeks for online applications) as visa processing times may vary. AUPEC2024 will not refund author registrations or publish no show papers in IEEE Xplore due to visa issues.

If you need an invitation letter to apply for a visa, AUPEC2024 can provide such a letter to the following individuals: Authors of Technical Papers, Keynote, Tutorial and Workshop Speakers, Members of the AUPEC2024 Organising Committee, Members of the AUPEC2024 International Steering Committee and AUPEC2024 Attendees who have a fully paid registration. The invitation letter will include conference title, dates and location, and it will state if you are an author, speaker, committee member or attendee.

If you are a presenting author with an accepted paper you can generate the invitation letter direct from EDAS by going to your paper and clicking on the visa icon (see image below).

No invitation letter will be issued until your registration has been completed, confirmed and paid.

Other Invitation Letters

If you need an invitation letter and you are not a presenting author, or you need an invitation letter with a signature to keep a bureaucrat happy please complete this form.

The AUPEC2024 Local Arrangements Chair will then produce the letter and send it to you via email within five days of receiving your request. Please indicate in your request if you require your invitation to be sent to you by physical mail (allow extra time for postal delay). You will need to register for the conference before your request for an invitation letter can be processed.

No invitation letter will be issued until your registration has been completed, confirmed and paid.
