With the goal of creating a global platform for cooperation among researchers and enthusiasts in technology used for the betterment of society and focusing on technological inventions for the fight against COVID-19, IEEE BUET Student Branch, IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) BUET Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE SSIT Bangladesh Chapter as well as IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE SIGHT Group FLASH, will be jointly organizing a panel discussion session titled “Second Social Implications of Technology Panel: Socio-Technical Fight Against COVID-19”. It is initiated to uphold a stage for students and young professionals to obtain a broad sense of enabling innovative ideas and technologies in both local and global sectors that will have social implications and work for the betterment of society. It will also present a motivation for students to think about their research field, career development, professional life with regards to how they can impact the society and lives of different communities of people living in the societies. Due to the social distancing measures around the world due to COVID-19, the whole event will be a virtual one with students, academicians & professionals attending the event from a safe distance – staying at their homes.
