Aim and Scope:

Most of the smart electronics devices and circuits are embedded with wireless features connected related IoT platforms. Efficient, reliable, low power and portability will be important parameters for the performance of such devices that are useful in IoT application. Signal processing blocks and sensors are also frequently used for IoT based devices. Artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques helps in designing and implementations of such devices. Therefore, design and architecture level techniques are now demand of next generation semiconductor industry and chip fabrication for IoT applications.
Every government is targeting to the development of semiconductor design and create manpower in this area by promoting more research for devices used in IoT platforms. This special session will be focused to attract the researchers, practitioners, expert for bringing their ideas and research at common platform and get benefited through mutual exchange of ideas & discussions. Authors may also invite or get the feedback on the level of research work done that may lead to further improvement in their work.

Dr. Suman Lata Tripathi Dr Suman Lata Tripathi is working as Professor in Lovely Professional University with more than 22 years of experience in academics and research. She has completed her Ph.D. in the area of microelectronics and VLSI Design from MNNIT, Allahabad. She did her MTech in Electronics Engineering from UP Technical University, Lucknow and BTech in Electrical Engineering from Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. She has completed her remote post-doc from Nottingham Trent University, London, UK in the year 2022-23. She has published more than 141 research papers in refereed Springer, Elsevier, IEEE, Wiley and IOP science journals, conference proceeding and e-books. She has also published 14 Indian patents and 4 copyright. She has guided 6 PhD scholar and 3 are under submission stage. She has organized several workshops, summer internships, and expert lectures for students. She has worked as a session chair, conference steering committee member, editorial board member, and peer reviewer in international/national IEEE, Springer, Wiley etc Journal and conferences. She has received the “Research Excellence Award” in 2019 and “Research Appreciation Award” in 2020, 2021 and 2023 at Lovely Professional University, India. She is recipient of IGEN Women’s for Green Technology “Women’s Achievers Award” on International Women’s Day, 8th March-2023. She had received the best paper at IEEE ICICS-2018. She has also received funded project from SERB DST under the scheme TARE in the area of Microelectronics devices. Dr. B. Raj is working as Associate Professor in ECE Department, NIT Jalandher. He has worked as Associate Professor in ECE Department, NITTTR Chandigarh since 2019-2022. Earlier, he worked as Assistant Professor at NIT Jalandhar and IIITM Gwalior from 2011 to 2019. He did B. Tech, Electronics Engineering (PTU Jalandhar) in 2004, M. Tech-Microelectronics (PU Chandigarh) in 2006 and Ph.D-VLSI Design (IIT Roorkee), India in 2010. For further research work, European Commission awarded him Mobility of life research fellowship for postdoc research work at University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy in 2010-2011.  He also worked as visiting researcher at KTH university Sweden, Oct-Nov. 2013. Dr. Raj received best teacher’s award from ISTE New Delhi, in July 2013. Dr. Raj has published more than 100 research papers in international/national journals and conferencesHis areas of interest in research are Nanoscale Semiconductor Device Modeling, sensors design, FinFET based Memory design, Low Power VLSI Design.

Aim and Scope:

The goal of the special session is to explore multiple aspects of VLSI design, including state-of-the-art techniques and technologies that are essential for improving circuit and system capabilities. Dr. Abhishek Kumar is associated with Lovely Professional University, School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering as an associate professor. He obtained his PhD in the area of VLSI Design for Low Power and Secured Architecture Lovely Professional University, before this, he completed his M.Tech from the University of Mumbai, India. With over 11 years of experience in academia, Dr. Kumar has made significant contributions to research and education. His research output is impressive, comprising more than 55 research papers published in respected journals such as Springer, Elsevier, IEEE, Wiley, and IOP Science. Additionally, he has contributed to numerous conference proceedings and e-books. Dr. Kumar’s innovative work extends beyond publications; he has been actively involved in intellectual property creation, having published 20 patents and registered 5 copyrights. His expertise spans authorship, including the book “Programming and GUI Fundamentals: TCL–TK for Electronic Design Automation (EDA)” published by Wiley-IEEE press, as well as editing 5 other books. Dr. P. Kumar is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering at J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana, a position he has held since 2008. He earned his B.Tech in ECE from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana in 2004, followed by an M.Tech in VLSI Design from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology in 2008. Dr. Kumar completed his Ph.D. in Device Modelling at J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana in 2021.

Dr. Kumar has made significant contributions to the field, with over 60 research papers published in international and national journals and conferences. He has received Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing Award from Microelectronics Reliability, Elsevier. His research paper has been selected Top Cited Article in 2021-2022, in Microsystem Technologies (Springer, SCI). He has nominated and selected for SERC Visiting Scientist Fellow Award, received Fast Track Young Scientist Project Award, and also received Young Scientist Travel award to visit Malaysia from Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. His areas of interest in research are nanoscale semiconductor device modelling, MEMS/NEMS and VLSI Design.

Aim and Scope:

The purpose of this special session is to establish a forum for academicians, researchers and industry professionals to engage in discussions regarding the integration of VLSI design and machine learning. The Field Programming Gate Array (FPGA) is regarded as the appropriate hardware support for the implementation of the AI/ML/DL algorithms. The VLSI architecture optimized for signal processing applications and the Secured Hardware architecture have become one of the primary challenges in the design of the new architecture, along with Power and Area. Different security and intelligent algorithms will be the primary focus of this session, with a particular emphasis on their prototyping development for hardware.

Dr. Sandeep Dhariwal received his doctoral degree in Electronics Engineering from Banasthali University, and M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar. He received his B.E. from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

He has about 15 years of experience including research and teaching, in the field of electronics and communication engineering. His technical expertise includes VLSI design, low power digital VLSI design, advanced digital system design and nano-materials. He has been resource person in organizing FDPs in the domain of VLSI and organized Value-Added Course in the area of VLSI Design for undergraduate students.

Dr. Sandeep Dhariwal has published many research papers in different reputed journals and conferences. He has reviewed various research papers from reputed journals including Organic Electronics (Elsevier), Pertanika Journal of Science and Technology and Journal of Engineering Science and Technology.

 

Dr. Jyotirmoy Pathak

A Ph.D. in VLSI Design for Hardware Security was awarded to Dr. Jyotirmoy Pathak by Lovely Professional University, India. Anna University, Chennai, awarded him a Master of Technology in VLSI Design and a Bachelor of Engineering  in Electronics and Communication Engineering. At present, he holds the position of Assistant Professor at Christ (Deemed to be University).

Over twenty of his research papers have been published in scholarly journals and presented at IEEE/Springer conferences. One book is attributed to him as an author with Wiely-IEEE, while five book chapters have been published by international publishers such as IGI Global and Nova Sciences. He has served as a resource individual for two conferences at the international level. He has served on the editorial boards and as a reviewer for programme committees of international journals and conferences.

Side Channel Attack, VLSI Design, Low Power Architecture, Memory Design, Data Converters, ASIC-SoC, and Cryptology are all within his realm of expertise.
