Executive Chair: Julio Alexander García Maison

Julio García is a distinguished professional with a career enriched by his commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of electromechanical and energy engineering. With a degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the Technological University of Panama, Julio has made a name for himself in the industry since his early entry.

Acting as Manager at Naturgy Services, S.A., Julio has been a pioneer in the presentation of distributed energy and smart grid projects at the national level. In addition, he has supervised projects that include digital transformation for the integration of electric mobility and has contributed to the design and verification of energy efficiency projects. His previous roles include the implementation of advanced protection systems such as the SPAJ140C on ABB’s switchgear SafePlus, demonstrating his technical aptitude for Smart Grids.

A member of the IEEE since 2008, Julio has held various leadership positions in sections and committees. His dedication has earned him several recognitions, including “The Best Young Professional Award 2019” by the IEEE Panama Section. He has been Vice President of the Panama Section (2019-2020), which demonstrates his commitment to the advancement of the field.

Julio combines deep technical expertise with management and leadership skills, critical elements to lead an interdisciplinary event like ISGT LATAM. His experience in the Intersector Committee on Electric Mobility (CIME) and in the Energy Efficiency Strategy committee gives him a holistic vision that would be invaluable for a congress that brings together academia, industry, and students.

Julio García is a recognized leader and expert in the field of smart grids and renewable energy, with a strong vision and passion for advancing the state-of-the-art and addressing the challenges and opportunities of the grid of the future. He has a proven track record of successful conference organization and management, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. He is well qualified to be the Executive Chair of ISGT Latam 2025, where he can bring his valuable knowledge, experience, and insights to create an engaging and impactful event for the smart grid community.
