IEEE ISGT NA 2022 COVID-19-Precautions

The health and well-being of IEEE Innovative Smart Grid Technologies NA (ISGT) conference attendees remains our top priority. By working closely with the Ernset M. Morial Convention Center and Federal, State and Local public health officials, we will incorporate current best practices to provide you with the best level of protection at the conference. The 2022 ISGT NA organizing committee will continue to actively monitor local, state, and federal guidelines and we may further adjust our protocols if local conditions change as we get closer to the event based on requirements in New Orleans and at the venue.

While we are endeavoring to keep the ISGT 2022 website up-to-date on COVID prevention measures please also check the IEEE PES T&D Expo Health & Safety Updates.

The ISGT NA Conference is planning to have a N-95 or KN-95 face mask for each attendee.  Please consider using these masks or masks you bring with you during the conference and the related events.

We all play a role in guarding against the health and safety threats. This year, we’ve added COVID specific measures to ensure a clean environment that focuses on your health and wellness.  We strongly encourage that all attendees complete full COVID vaccination before the conference. Here are some of the health measures that we expect all participants to follow while attending the conference:

  • Based on the New Orleans Covid Safety Plan::
    • As of March 22, the city of New Orleans has updated their COVID-response guidelines:
      • Masks required only on public transportation and in healthcare facilities
    • Proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 PCR, molecular, or antigen test with is no longer required. (Note that proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test may be required by individual businesses or organizations per City of New Orleans.)
    • All attendees are encouraged to be vaccinated before attending and to wear an effective face covering at all times while inside the venue and while attending ISGT.
    • Signage will be in place throughout the conference venue informing and reminding all attendees and contractors of COVID-19 prevention measures.
  • Ernest M. Morial health and safety update – See the “Health and Safety Update” on the main page of the convention center’s website
