Dr. Yusuke Kuwayama is a Senior Research Fellow at Resources for the Future (RFF) and has worked with RFF as an economist since 2011. He received a PhD from University of Illinois, Urbana, IL in Agricultural & Applied Economics. His is the Director for the “Valuation of Applications Benefits Linked with Earth Science (VALUABLES) Consortium which is assessing the impacts and value of space-based data on decision making. His previous studies include risks and mitigation options for on-site storage of wastewater from shale gas and tight oil development and, more recently, the value of remotely sensed information, looking at the case of GRACE satellite data being used to enhance performance of the US drought severity index.
