Call for Grand Challenges

Multimedia signal processing stands at the forefront of technological innovation, driving transformative advancements across diverse sectors such as entertainment, communication, healthcare, and beyond. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative Computing (GC) has ushered in a new era of possibilities, redefining the creation, consumption, and understanding of multimedia content. This convergence not only overcomes the limitations of traditional signal processing techniques but also unlocks unprecedented opportunities for innovation. By fostering a symbiotic relationship between MMSP and AI/GC, we are poised to address both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, paving the way for groundbreaking developments that will benefit individuals, industries, and society as a whole.

We are delighted to invite proposals for organizing algorithm or robotics grand challenges at IEEE MMSP 2025. These challenges will serve as a global platform for researchers to contribute their expertise and intelligence to tackle pressing problems in multimedia signal processing. We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

– Deep learning techniques for multimedia signal processing

– Generative models for multimedia content creation, representation, and enhancement

– Applications of AI and GC in immersive multimedia experiences

– Cross-modal translation and synthesis

– Adaptive and self-learning multimedia systems

– Adversarial attacks and defenses in multimedia signal processing

– Interactive multimedia generation

– Human-computer interaction and user-centered design in multimedia applications
