The Celebration of the IEEE 140th anniversary- innovation renaissance across three centuries have Four parts: IEEE New Era AI World Leaders AI Summit-Part I, AI enablement workshops Hybrid-Part II, and the Best OF New Era AI workshops online Part III.  Up to date we have sold over 1260 tickets in total.   Part IV, Sip and Inspire with AI.

The Part I,  IEEE New Era World Leaders AI Summit, held on August 24, 2024, was a resounding success. Distinguished thought leaders, CTOs, Presidents, and Chief Scientists from various corporations and institutions gathered to share their groundbreaking ideas. Their conversations promised to revolutionize AI applications, pushing the boundaries of what this transformative technology can achieve. Their collective wisdom has the power to reshape our technological landscape, inspiring change across research labs, startups, and established companies alike.

On October 26, Part II of our series saw 365 participants joining a hybrid event featuring 18 industrial workshops led by industry giants from Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Nvidia, AMD, Apple, Oracle, Global Health Lab of Gates Foundation, and more. These sessions delved into the frontiers of AI and Machine Learning across various fields, including Medicine, Global Health, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Digital Twin, Warehousing, Prompt Engineering, Cybersecurity, Media Art, Business, Language, Data Management, Product Development, Career Management, Privacy and Security, and innovative AI/ML tools and applications. Participants praised the invaluable experiences and practical insights they gained.

Since many attendees missed valuable sessions due to the parallel workshops, we have organized New Era AI Part III— The Best of IEEE New Era AI – an online series of workshops running one at a time. This series is still on going right now.

Honorable VIP Guests

Lisa Wellman represents 41st Legislative District (Mercer Island, Bellevue, Newcastle and parts of Issaquah, Sammamish, and Renton) in the Washington State Senate. She was elected in 2016 after a 25-year career in technology and marketing including executive level positions in Fortune 100 companies.

She served as VP of Worldwide Publishing, Entertainment and New Media Markets.

In the Senate, Lisa serves as the chair of the Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee. She serves on the Energy, Environment & Technology Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee.

She serves on the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee, the Mastery Based Learning Workgroup, the Work Integrated Learning Advisory Committee, Lt. Governor’s Legislative Economic Development and International Relations task force and has been a mentor for 17 years for the MBA candidates at the Foster Business School at the University of Washington.

Dr. Vandana Slatter is a State Representative in the Washington State Legislature, representing the 48th Legislative District, which includes parts of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and all of Clyde Hill, Medina, Yarrow Point and Hunts Point. She chairs the House Post Secondary Education & Workforce Committee and serves on the Environment & Energy, and the Appropriations Committees. She also is Co-chair of the Science, Technology and Innovation Caucus, and serves on the Future of Work Task Force, the Electric Airplane Working Group, and the Sustainable Aviation Biofuels Work Group.

 She currently serves on the UW Evans School Advisory Board. In 2007, Vandana was appointed by Governor Gregoire to a four-year term on the Washington State Board of Pharmacy. She has also served on the boards of NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, the Children’s Institute for Learning Differences, the Overlake Hospital Foundation, and Farmer Frog.

Prior to being elected to the Bellevue City Council in 2015, Vandana worked for over 20 years as a clinical scientist in leading biotech/pharma companies Amgen, Genentech/Roche, UCB Pharma & Pharmacia/Pfizer. She also worked as a hospital pharmacist at Battle Creek Health Systems in Michigan.

Dr. Slatter received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc Pharm) from the University of British Columbia, Canada, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Washington, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington. She is a licensed pharmacist in the State of Washington. At UBC, she earned a varsity athletic letter in the sport of fencing, was captain of the UBC women’s varsity fencing team and gold medalist at the BC Junior Women’s foil championships.
