Joseph Eton

Joseph Eton is a seasoned Data Scientist with a passion for leveraging data-driven insights to empower organizations and drive economic growth. With extensive experience in database and data warehouse design and implementation, business intelligence, research, data products, data engineering and analytics, Joseph has held various roles across different industries. While in Nigeria, he supported the development and implementation of the health workforce registry in the Federal Ministry of Health and across many state health ministries, worked in health and social welfare systems strengthening projects funded by USAID, CDC, Ford Foundation, Global Fund and UNICEF. He also worked with various federal and states ministries parastatals including Nigerian Universities commission, National Population Commission, National Bureau of Statistics, and National Identity Management Commission. His broad expertise encompasses cloud solutions (AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP), database design, ETL processes, and analytics, skills that he has harnessed to make a positive impact across both public and private sectors.
As graduate with a Master’s degree in Applied Data Science from the University of Sunderland, Joseph’s academic background is complemented by hands-on experience in creating data-driven solutions, from analysing research data to developing analytical frameworks for SMEs. His recent work has focused on the growth potential of SMEs through data awareness and generation, advocating for the power of data to unlock new opportunities and economic growth sustainability.
Currently based in the UK, and has worked in various organisations like Eon Next Energy Limited, Solihull Council, Sensmart Limited, Hexis Lab and Pyralink Innovation Ltd as a data analyst and data engineer. Joseph actively shares his knowledge with the tech community. His GitHub and LinkedIn profiles reflect his commitment to transparency and collaboration within the field, as well as his contributions to innovative projects like yapilli and MiliaPay. He volunteers with St. John’s Ambulance, Your Voice Count and other charity organisations and holds memberships in IEEE, British Computer Society, Data Council and Operational Research Society
