Dr. Luciano Barros

Luciano Barros received a Bachelor’s (2000), Master’s (2002), and PhD (2006) in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). In 2008, he received Post-doctorate (Regional Scientific Development – DCR/CNPq) at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA).
He worked at the Electrical Engineering Department at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (DEE/UFRN), in the city of Natal-RN, Brazil. Since 2020, he is professor at the Department of Computer Systems at the Federal University of Paraiba (DSC/UFPB), in the city of João Pessoa-PB, Brazil. He has experience in Dynamics and Control of Power Systems. His interest areas are: Stability of Power Systems with High Penetration of Distributed Generation; Control of Wind Generation; Control of Photovoltaic Solar Generation; HVDC transmission; Protection of Electric Power Systems.
Luciano Barros a is reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy and IEEE PES Letters. Moreover, he is also PES Professional Chapter vice-chair of Northeast Brazil Section.
