Robert D. Lorenz

Prof. Robert (Bob) Lorenz passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019.

Bob was a pioneer of self-sensing control of electrical drives, an unmatched example of technical excellence and a friend of us.

He was keynote speaker at SLED past editions many times, lastly in 2017 in Catania, with an energizing lecture entitle The Path to Widespreead Use of Self-Sensing. At the time he passed away, he was a member of the Steering Committee of SLED 2019.

SLED 2019 will remember Prof. Lorenz through special dedicated moments, including a dedicated Special Session.
