With over 15 years experience in cybersecurity and industrial control systems, Jason is the CTO at Axio. Later this month, Jason will join Dragos as their Principal Cyber Risk Advisor. Prior to joining Axio, Jason led the research for cyber security metrics and information assurance at EPRI. He has previously served as the technical lead for Cybersecurity for Energy Delivery Systems (CEDS) Operations program at the US Department of Energy, where he managed the nation’s risk management and incident response capabilities for the sector, including the Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model program. Prior to that, Jason was the technical lead for both Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards and Smart Grid Security at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Jason has held roles as a member on the IEEE-USA Energy Policy, Communications Policy, and Research & Development Policy Committees. He is a Certified Instructor for SANS, where he teaches ICS456: Essentials for NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection. He was recently named Cybersecurity Leader of the Year (2019) by the Energy Sector Security Consortium for his work across with utilities. Jason holds a Master of Engineering degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
