Sajjad Fekriasl received his PhD degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal (2006) and B.S.(Hons) and M.S.(Hons) degrees in electrical engineering (1995, 1997). He has held a number of technical leadership positions in the field of electrical engineering. He was principal engineer at GE Grid Solutions, UK (2012-2017) where he received GE Excellence Award for development of digital substation state estimation. He was lecturer with Mechatronics Engineering, Cranfield University (2010–2011). He is currently technology manager at ABB, UK. His research interest cover robust control systems, optimization and estimation in electrification, smart grids, battery energy storage systems, power converters, and renewable energy integration.
