Kathy Hochul

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul has been a life-long advocate for women and families across the state, fighting for equal rights and opportunities for success. She has worked at all levels of government, from town board to Congress — where she represented New York’s 26th Congressional District. As the only statewide female elected official, she championed the “Enough is Enough” law to prevent sexual assault on college campuses, spearheaded the state’s Paid Family Leave program – – the most expansive in the nation — and is continuing to work to eliminate the gender wage gap and combat a culture that tolerates sexual discrimination and harassment in the workplace and beyond.Early on, Lieutenant Governor Hochul joined her mother and aunt in establishing the Kathleen Mary House in 2006, a transitional home for victims of domestic violence.  She continues to advocate on behalf of all New Yorkers, fighting for women’s rights and protections and championing New York’s progressive accomplishments.
