Jean McManus
Jean is the Executive Director of Emerging Technologies in Verizon’s Technology and Product Development organization. She is currently responsible for product innovation with emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and quantum technologies. Jean leads a product technology proof of concept lab which creates proofs of concept with emerging technologies. Jean was recognized by Fierce Telecom as both a 2011 Woman in Wireline and in a series entitled “Six Faces of IPv6” for her leadership at Verizon during the 2011 World IPv6 Day. She regularly champions Women in Tech initiatives within Verizon including Women’s Developer Summits and Women’s Networking Circles. She was profiled in the 2016 book, “The Internet of Women: Accelerating Culture Change.” Jean was named an @MAKERS in 2017. She received her PhD (Systems Engineering) and MSE (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Pennsylvania and a BSE (Electrical Engineering) from Duke University. She holds several patents.
