Nazneen is a visionary leader and dedicated IEEE volunteer, currently serving as the Local Arrangements Coordinator for the IEEE WiE Forum USA East 2025. In this role, she is instrumental in shaping the forum’s success by managing local logistics, coordinating engaging social events, and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees. Her commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion is evident through her impactful roles as the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) DEI Ambassador and the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Student Branch Chapter Area Chair for Regions 1 to 6. Under her leadership as Chair of the IEEE PES/IAS Joint Student Branch Chapter at The George Washington University (GWU), the chapter was honored as one of the top-performing branches in the USA in the 2024 PES HPSBC Program.

As a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at GWU, Nazneen focuses on advancing resilient smart grids, power system protection, and reliability. Through her work on the NSF-funded FIREWALL project, she develops innovative strategies to enhance energy infrastructure resilience and mitigate wildfire risks in Alaska. Beyond her research, Nazneen serves as an adjunct instructor at GWU, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

With her diverse expertise, impactful leadership, and passion for fostering innovation and inclusivity, Nazneen is poised to make significant contributions to the success of the IEEE WiE Forum USA East 2025 and the broader engineering community.
