Adriana Ieraci’s work is at the intersection of emerging technologies, such as AI and robotics, and human-centred design.  Her research focuses on the application of machine learning to physiological signal data to develop new automation, smart textile and bioelectronic technologies that can improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Adriana works closely with inter-disciplinary collaborators including clinicians and engineers, developing solutions that apply these emerging technologies to health. She is an adjunct lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto in human-centred design and entrepreneurship and the cofounder of Elaya, a startup developing medical device technology.  Adriana’s passion for open science led her to found the GYBO Robotics Network, a community of over 850 roboticists and robot enthusiasts in Ontario.  She has a BASc and an MEng in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science specializing in AI at the Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson).
