Technical Visit
The Solarvest Green Energy Testbed in Sarawak is a collaborative effort between Solarvest Borneo, CENTEXS (Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak), and Huawei Malaysia. This initiative, located at CENTEXS’ headquarters in Santubong, aims to explore and promote green energy solutions such as solar photovoltaics (PV), wind turbines, hydrogen energy, and micro-hydropower systems.
A key highlight is the integration of a hybrid energy system combining solar power, battery storage, and hydrogen production. The solar PV system, with 425 kWp of installed capacity and 780 solar panels, generates green hydrogen through electrolysis, which is then used to power various applications, including a 5G telecommunications system. This testbed is designed to serve as an industry benchmark for green hydrogen production, aligning with Sarawak’s vision of becoming a hydrogen economy leader by 2027.
The project also focuses on workforce development, offering hands-on training in renewable energy technologies for local talent.
