What is ISTAS?
The “International Symposium on Technology and Society” (ISTAS) is the annual flagship conference of the IEEE’s Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT). The conference considers and presents interdisciplinary issues related to today’s rapidly evolving technologies and the implications they may have on our lives.
What is the IEEE?
The IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to “advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.” The acronym stands for “the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.”
Who should come to ISTAS?
ISTAS is an interdisciplinary conference. Participants from all levels of academia (students, faculty, administrators), industry, the non-profit sector, and the public are welcome to attend. We hope you will engage in ISTAS21 discussions about the future of our society and the role that technology will play in it!
