Toshio Fukuda

TOSHIO FUKUDA, IEEE 2020 President, IEEE Life Fellow, Honorary Professor and Visiting Professor, Nagoya University, Japan, Professor of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Japan University of Fine Arts, Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology.

Dr. Fukuda studied at Yale University from 1973 to 1975 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1977. He is currently a professor at Mingcheng University and Beijing Institute of Technology, and an honorary professor at Nagoya University. He is mainly engaged in the research of intelligent robot systems and micro-nano robotics. His research interests include Intelligent robotic system, self-organizing system, micro-nano robotics, bio-robotic system, neuromorphic intelligent control, fuzzy control, control of mechanical systems and technical diagnosis. More than 2,300 papers have been published in scientific journals, conference proceedings, and reports. He served as Vice Chair of IFSA (1998-2003) and Chair of SOFT (2003-2005). He was awarded the Humboldt Research Award (2003), the Award of Japanese Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (2005, 2013), Friendship Award of State Administration of Foreign Experts affairs of the P.R.C.(2014), Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon(2015), granted by the Emperor of Japan, and Japanese Government Award (2015). He is a member of the Japanese Science Council (2008-2014), a member of the Japanese Academy of Engineering (elected in 2013) and a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (elected in 2017).

福田敏男教授，IEEE 2020主席，IEEE Life Fellow，日本名古屋大学名誉教授和客座教授，日本名城大学机电工程系教授，北京理工大学教授。

Fukuda博士1973-1975年就读于耶鲁大学，1977年获得东京大学博士学位。现任名城大学和北京理工大学教授，以及名古屋大学名誉教授。他主要从事智能机器人系统和微纳米机器人技术的研究，研究兴趣包括智能机器人系统，自组织系统，微纳米机器人，生物机器人系统，神经形态智能控制，模糊系统，机械控制系统和技术诊断等。在科学期刊、会议论文集和报告中发表了2300余篇论文。曾担任IFSA副主席（1998-2003）和SOFT主席（2003-2005）。他曾被授予洪堡研究奖（2003），日本教育、科学和技术部奖（2005、2013），中国政府“友谊奖”（2014），日本天皇授予的“紫绶褒章”（2015），以及日本政府奖（2015）。他是日本科学委员会成员（2008-2014）、日本工程院院士（2013年当选）及中国科学院外籍院士（2017年当选）。
