Author Video Upload Guide
Due to the current situation in Malaysia, the 2021 IEEE Conference on Energy Conversion (CENCON 2021) will move to a fully virtual platform during the conference on 25th October 2021.
Authors of the accepted paper are required to record their video presentation (pre-recorded video) and then upload the pre-recorded video (in MP4 format) on EDAS.
The pre-recorded video will be played during the Conference parallel sessions and followed by live questions and answers, where authors are required to stand-by on the online meeting platform to answer any questions posted by the audience.
When preparing the Pre-Recorded Video file, please make sure that:
- The duration of the video file for Regular papers is strictly not more than 12 minutes.
- the final manuscript has been uploaded on EDAS before uploading the pre-recorded presentation video.
- If possible, use the CENCON 2021 backdrop (download backdrop here) when preparing your pre-recorded presentation. If you are using PowerPoint, you can optionally use the CENCON 2021 PowerPoint template for your presentation (download PowerPoint template here).
To upload your pre-recorded video (.mp4) to EDAS:
- First, log onto EDAS and click on your accepted paper.
- Go to the menu “Presentation” and upload the file. The “Presentation” menu is located right below the “Final Manuscript” menu, as shown on the figure below:
- Click on the “Upload” icon (blue color cloud with arrow pointing up). From there, follow the instructions to upload your presentation by 17th October 2021.
You have two uploading options:
- Choose File: If your file is under 200 MB, please upload using the “Choose File” button. Once the file name is listed, please click “Upload MP4 Video”.
- URL: If your MP4 file is over 200 MB, please input a Dropbox or Google Drive directory URL into the text field. Once the URL is listed, please click “Upload MP4 Video”. Please note that the link must be a direct download link. Shared drive links will not upload.
- File Format: MPEG-4 (.mp4) file (use the normal H.264 video and AAC audio codecs)
- Video Size: HD (1280 x 720 or other “720p” setting)
- Audio Quality: please double check your files before submitting to make sure the audio is clear and audible!
How to Record Your Presentation?
Your presentation videos should contain a prominent view of the presentation slides, along with audio of the spoken presentation. We strongly encourage for the video to contain a shot of the speaker’s head for increased engagement. There are many ways that you can use to pre-record your presentation. Here are some options:
- You can use your Microsoft PowerPoint to add narration and video to your PowerPoint slides and convert your slides into a video. Here are some useful links on how to do this.
- If you are using macOS, you can use Keynote instead of PowerPoint. Here is the instruction link.
