Boolean Girl Coding Workshop

(Sponsored by New York Life and Mercer)

Boolean Girl will host a coding and electronics workshop to teach girls how to code and build electronics gadgets (intended for ages eight to 13).
No prior coding or electronics experience is required.

Note: Parents must accompany their children at the workshop and preregister with them.

Fee per child is $20 and includes all materials and refreshments.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Boolean Girl (BG) workshop chaperones and BG Workshop IEEE volunteers are not required to be registered to attend the WIE Forum to participate in the BG Workshop, but they must register for the WIE Forum if they do plan to attend any of the WIE Forum events Thursday – Saturday other than the BG volunteer training and BG workshop.  Children may not be registered nor attend the WIE Forum.)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! (Must be IEEE Members) :

Boolean Girl will conduct a session to train IEEE volunteers how to teach coding and electronics in preparation for the Boolean Girl workshop on Saturday. Volunteers will do crowd control and assist with answering basic questions.

All events will take place at the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City (conference venue)

Boolean Girl Workshop: Saturday, Nov 23, 2019 3:00-6:00 PM (Grand Ballroom Salon I and Salon III)

The mission of Boolean Girl is to address the declining numbers of girls and women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields by engaging girls in grades three through eight with meaningful, hands-on instruction and sustained exposure to computer science and engineering in a collaborative and welcoming environment.
