Quality of Experiences (QoE) for Multimedia Signals

With the development of Internet technologies, various types of visual information are generated in the form of images, videos, graphics, VR/AR, etc. In the multimedia processing systems, there might be various distortions generated for visual signals in different stages, including acquisition, processing, compression, transmission, reconstruction, display, perception, etc. How to measure these visual distortions in real applications is still a challenge, especially for realistic distortions. Accurate measurement methods for the quality of experiences for various multimedia signals are much desired in various multimedia processing applications. This special session seeks submissions about the latest technology developments in the area of quality of experiences for multimedia signals, as well as the potential applications and systems in the related area. We will also focus on the new technologies and applications in the visual quality assessment, visual attention modeling, and so on.

Topics of interest of this special session include, but are not limited to:

  • Computational models of quality of experiences for multimedia signals
  • Computational models of perceptual visual information processing
  • Visual attention modeling and applications for visual scenes
  • New psychophysical experiments
  • In-depth analysis of perceptual-based visual signal processing systems
  • Visual quality assessment model validation
  • Pre and Post processing techniques to enhance viewing experience
  • User-oriented streaming, and adaptation for multimedia processing systems
  • Applications, databases and standards related to perceptual visual processing
