We look forward to welcoming you to the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (ISC2 2022) which will take place in Paphos, Cyprus on 26-29 September, 2022.

In an effort to provide participants with as many details as possible on the conference and in order to avoid any complications, we are sending out this email with information concerning all the participants of the conference. In case you are not 100% sure that you have forwarded your latest information to us, or you are in doubt for any of your arrangements, or you have sent us your details but you have not received a reply from us, please let us know immediately.

 We would like to inform you that the conference program is available here.

 During the conference every participant will be provided with a printed conference handbook which will feature the daily program analytically.

GUIDELINES

Guidelines for presenters/participants & session chairs are available here.

Presenters are asked to bring their presentation on a USB in PowerPoint or PDF format. You will need to transfer your file to the  computer prior to the start of the session. We are unable to accept presentations on personal laptops given the technical complication of the equipment.

All presenters are expected to attend (either physically or online) and present live.

REGISTRATION HOURS

Please note that the online registration to the conference through www.easyconferences.org will close on Thursday 22/09/2022 at 14:00 Cyprus time (CET+1). In case of any last minute registrations and/or amendments, any time after that date, please contact the Conference organizers directly at: info@easyconferences.org    

With regards to the onsite secretariat, please note that the Conference Registration Desk will be located in the venue and will be at your service as follows:

Registration Hours

*Please note that participants will not be entitled to participate in the ISC2 2022 conference unless their full payment is received prior to the start of the conference. In case participants have sent payment through the bank and the payment is not received by the start of the conference, then they will be required to pay upon arrival. In such a case, if a bank transfer is received later, then it will be returned to the sender (bank charges will be bared by participants).

During the onsite registration, you will be given a conference bag and your name badge which you must wear at all times.

Inside your name badge you will find the lunches’ and social events’ vouchers. Please have these ready for collection by our staff at the entrance of each event

In case that someone has to pay one of the optional events at the Conference Registration Desk, please note that we can accept credit cards (VISA and MasterCard), or cash (Euro).

Please note that our staff will be available at the Conference Registration Desk throughout the conference days for any requirements that our participants may have. 

SOCIAL EVENTS

Tickets for the following social events will be available for purchase at the onsite Conference Registration Desk:

Tuesday, 27/09/2022 – Welcome Cocktail 

(Included within all physical registration fees)

Wednesday, 28/09/2022 –Tour and Conference Dinner 

(Included within Physical IEEE Member/Non Member fees.)

Departure Time: 18:45 (Meet at venue hotel lobby)

Conference Dinner ticket:  60 Euros (for Students, Workshop & accompanying person)

EXCURSIONS

Please note that the following excursions have been cancelled due to low participation

• Half Day (pm) Paphos Excursion on 25/09
• Full Day (09:00 – 17:00) Nicosia Excursion on 27/06

Important: Participants that had originally booked and paid for the above cancelled events, will be fully reimbursed after the financial closure of the Conference.

CONFERENCE HOTELS

Please note that you do not need a voucher or a reservation number to check into the venue hotel or any other hotel we have booked through EasyConferences. You only need to mention your name at the hotel’s Reception Desk upon arrival and the hotel staff will immediately provide you with your room.

Please note that Check-in time in the above hotels is 14:00 hours, whereas Check-out time is 12:00 noon. If you wish to have the room outside the normal hours (due to early arrival / late departure) you need to contact us at info@easyconferences.org for special arrangements.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Taxi Transfers booked through Easy Conferences 

There will be a person waiting for you after Customs Formalities with an ISC2 2022 sign. You simply need to tell your name to the taxi driver. In case of any last minute changes (within 24 hours prior to the arranged time) you have to CALL US AT and not send an e-mail only.

DEPARTURES

With regard to your departure, your pick-up time back to the airport will be on the departure card given to you at the Registration Desk.

Please note that you can always contact Easy Conferences for reserving airport transfers (from/to airports) via email: info@easyconferences.org, telephone at: +357-22 591 900, or at the onsite registration desk. Remember to contact us by phone for any last minute changes (24 hours prior to the arranged time) at

Car Hire booked through Easy Conferences

On arrival please proceed to the booth of ‘Astra Car Rental’ company and the staff there (present 24/7) will be able to assist you. You do not need a voucher. Simply mention your name and provide them with your driving license.

The booth of ‘Astra Car Rental’ Company is located at:

1. Larnaca Airport: after the exit of Custom Formalities, opposite you, slightly to the left.
   II. Paphos Airport: opposite you as soon as you exit Custom Formalities.

Please note that the Car Hire Daily Rates start at the pickup time and finish 24 hours later. In case that the car is returned exceeding the 24 hour bracket, on the last day, there will be a charge for an additional day.

Cars picked up from either Larnaca or Paphos airports are subject to an Airport Charge of 20 € to be paid locally.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Please note that Cyprus has a comprehensive public bus network, with extensive inner-city routes and also major city and airport connections. You can find more information at www.cyprusbybus.com . If you require specific information, please click here and select your desired city.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Important Information about Cyprus:

• The voltage on the island is 240. Socket outlets are the English flat 3 pin-type.
• English is the second language and is widely spoken. A greater knowledge of French and German is increasingly noticeable.

• The currency of the Republic is Euro.
• Banks in Cyprus open for the public from 08:00 to 14:30 (Monday – Thursday) and from 08:00 to 14:00 (Friday).
• Cyprus is a full member of the European Union.
