Virginia Ballarín

Virginia Laura Ballarin is Electronic Engineer and Magister Scientae in Epistemology and Methodology of Sciences from the National University of Mar del Plata and Dra. In Cs. Biological or. Bioengineering by the National University of Tucumán. She is currently Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the UNMdP in charge of the subjects “Probability and Stochastic Processes” and “Introduction to Digital Image Processing”. She is a Category 1 Researcher (Incentive Program) with research tasks in the area of ​​Medical Image Processing. She is the author of 3 book chapters, 39 papers in refereed international magazines and 76 papers at conferences. She has directed 5 doctoral theses in Engineering with Electronic orientation from the UNMdP and 1 for a Master’s degree in Medical Physics from the Balseiro Institute. She currently directs 4 doctoral students (CONICET Scholarship). In recognition of his research work, she has received the “Solution of the year 2000” awards from Advanced Imaging Magazine (USA) (2000) and the 1st Prize in the Postgraduate category in IEEE TRIC IV (2010). She is a CONEAU MERCOSUR Evaluator, ARCUSUR Career Accreditation System (2010-2011) for Electronic Engineering majors and CONEAU Evaluator Peer, for Biomedical Engineering majors in 2006 and for Electronic Engineering majors in 2008.

Anselmo Frizera Neto

Anselmo Frizera Neto was born in 1983 in Vitória, Brazil. In 2006, he graduated in Electrical Engineering from Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), Brazil. In 2010 he obtained his PhD degree from Universidad de Alcalá, Spain. From 2006 to 2010 he worked as a researcher at the Bioengineering Group at the Spanish National Research Council. Currently, he is a Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department at UFES, Brazil. His research interests are rehabilitation robotics, human-machine interaction, gait analysis and signal processing.
