A visit to Scotland, the Home of Golf,  provides the perfect opportunity to visit some of the world’s most prestigious golf courses. The first record of golf in Scotland dates from the 15th century, in 1764 the Links at St Andrews (now known as the Old Course) was reduced from 22 holes to 18, creating the standard course format we still use today.

Scotland is home to more than 550 courses – including links courses, parkland courses, heathland courses and everything else in between. Some fantastic courses are located closely to Glasgow, where IEEE IUS 2019 will be held.

About the Course:  Pollok Golf Club is Glasgow’s most prestigious golf club. Visitors to our city are welcome to play this beautiful tranquil 18 holes close to Pollok House and the Burrell Collection. Pollok, founded in 1892 was remodelled by Alister MacKenzie, who also designed Augusta, Georgia.

About the Course:  Gleneagles is home to three Championship golf courses, all of which are world-renowned.  The PGA Centenary Course was created by Jack Nicklaus and was the Host Venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup.  The King’s Course is almost 100 years old and was designed to challenge even the most accomplished of players while The Queen’s Course inspires with its beautiful setting.
