Staying Healthy

The SECC is the first venue in the world to be accredited under the World Obesity Federation’s Healthy Venue Award’s programme achieving silver status.
Wholemeal and wholegrain options are available for bread, pasta and rice dishes. The new portfolio of menu options with nutritional information that will enable you to  make informed choices about the food you consume during IEEE-IUS 2019.




Staying Active

The SECC has three clearly defined walking, jogging routes near the venue. Either download the free app or pick up a leaflet at the SEC Information Centre on the main concourse. For routes, download the app here.
Delegates can pick up a free Nextbike at the SEC or at one of the bike stations in the city for unlimited use during the conference. With 500 bikes and 53 stations across the city, it has never been easier to get around Glasgow by bike. The high quality and great for value bikes are situated across the city, catering to locals as much as tourists. For further information, click here.



Security and Safety

Please note that all Security measurements are implemented by the SEC.
The safety of the public attending events on our Campus is our highest priority and the SEC continually liaises with the relevant authorities, including Police Scotland. Appropriate security measures are in place to provide reassurance to all visitors. Suitcases and large rucksacks are permitted into the SEC Centre & Armadillo for conferences but should be checked into the Cloakroom.
All bags may be subject to searching.




The SEC Centre has automatic doors at both the East and West entrances. The main doors in the SEC Armadillo have been widened to provide easier access for wheelchairs. Please contact a steward who will be pleased to open for you.
Every hall in the SEC Centre is at ground level, and the upper levels of the SEC Armadillo, Loch Suite and Seminar Suite are accessible by lift.
If you have your own wheelchair and wish to bring it to an event you’re welcome to do so. The venue does have a small number of wheelchairs available to borrow, but these are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
