IEEE IUS 2019 welcomes all delegates to the below social options of the Symposium to network and to enjoy delicious, freshly-prepared food. These events will take place at two of the most outstanding venues Glasgow has to offer.

Enjoy drinks and canapes, whilst exploring this intriguing Glasgow Science Centre located on the riverside a couple of minutes’ walk across the River Clyde from the SEC. We guarantee an interactive evening reception amongst the science and technology exhibits – a great opportunity to meet delegates and kick the symposium off in style!

The Science Centre is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from the neighbourhood of Finnieston where there are a wide array of fabulous restaurants, for making dinner arrangements following the reception.  More information can be found on restaurants on the symposium website, which you can find by clicking here. Gala Dinner at Merchant Square

A truly unique experience awaits you at Merchant Square for the IEEE IUS 2019 Gala Dinner – enjoy the vibrant atmosphere whilst indulging in the food of your choice.  Located on Candleriggs in the heart of the Merchant City, Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, Merchant Square offers an eclectic selection of restaurants and bars all under one roof!

A move away from the traditional gala dinner, you will be greeted in the centre of the square to enjoy drinks and tray served starters. Delegates can then make a selection of cuisine from Scotland, Europe and beyond and take a seat and one of the restaurants around the square.  Desserts will be tray served  giving delegates the opportunity once again to network and chat to colleagues.

A ceilidh will ensure this is a truly Scottish experience, so don’t forget your dancing shoes!
