CALL FOR REVIEWERS

The paper review process is probably the most important part of developing a strong Technical Program. The fair and timely review process done by the reviewers is the key factor for the selection of high-quality papers for presentation and publication. We greatly appreciate reviewers for their contribution to the success of the conference. If you have previously participated as a reviewer we encourage you to register again this year. We also invite new reviewers to join.

Submissions to the 2020 IEEE PES/IAS PowerAfrica Conference will undergo a review process by independent reviewers who are knowledgeable in the pertinent subject area.

Qualifications & Reviewer Selection

  • Peer reviewers are selected from a list of qualified volunteers from industry or academia and from a list of qualified authors.
  • Volunteer reviewers with the appropriate credentials, skills, and expertise are considered to review appropriately fitting assignments.
  • Authors whose submissions have qualified to enter the peer review process also qualify to be selected as reviewers for other papers.
  • Reviewers are assigned on the basis of subject matter and disciplinary expertise.
  • Reviewers must not be students of any institution/university (Undergraduates or Postgraduates).

Review Process

Reviewing is done online through the EasyChair conference paper submission system. Reviewers are assigned up to 3 papers. All reviewers will be guided and given further instructions by the respective Track Chairs on the process. We have seven Tracks as highlighted below:

  2. Renewable Energy Resources, Grid Integration Technologies, Electric Transportation
  3. Electrical Safety, Power System Protection & Standards
  4. Power Converter Topologies, Electric Drives, Modeling & Control

It is expected that no one with access to a paper under review will make any inappropriate use of the special knowledge which that access provides. This applies to anyone else who is authorized to handle conference submissions.

When reviewing a paper considered for presentation and publication, reviewers must take into consideration the following ethical standards:
1. Papers will be reviewed based on their intellectual merit and contribution to the aims and scope of the conference, as well as on the criteria presented in the review process. The reviewers should adhere to standards of fairness, integrity, and objectivity. Kindly note that personal criticism is unacceptable.
2. Reviewers who feel that their review comments might be biased and/or unqualified regarding a particular submitted paper to the conference should notify the Organizing Committee immediately and excuse themselves from the review process.
3. Reviewers should be clear in their review comments and provide proper explanations and arguments for their decisions. If there is any suspicion about the originality of the paper, reviewers are expected to notify the Organizing Committee immediately, with the appropriate arguments.
4. During the review process, reviewers will keep in mind at all times that the paper and related materials are confidential.
5. Reviewers warrant that they will not use the papers and related materials submitted to the conference for any other purpose than the peer-review process.
